Friends of Kyuso: parish partnership with Kenya
“Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4)
Kyuso is a remote parish in Eastern Kenya that Rathgar Parish has supported since 2007. We have raised significant funds since then and have been able to support the building of a Catholic primary school for 500 children, with two dormitories and canteen facilities.
In addition, we have funded a long running, successful goats’ projects targeted at women most in need. We have also funded the construction of a number of shallow wells, plus other initiatives.
In partnership with Rathgar Parish, we are currently working on a Bore Hole project to provide a sustainable water source for the community, to complete this project we need to raise €35,000. We appreciate any and all support, including the purchase of tickets to this wonderful event.
Parishioners can participate by attending any of the fund raising events or by helping the organisers with the running of events.
